Introduction: Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday, where we journey deep into the realms of self-awareness, self-reflection, and mindfulness. Today, I’m excited to share my personal story and the reasons behind the creation of “The Personal Elevator.”
A Quest for Balance: As a husband in my 30s, with a loving family and the daily hustle, I’ve always been on the lookout for ways to balance life’s scales. Initially, the idea of starting a blog was driven by the thought of generating additional revenue. However, as I explored the concept, I soon realized it held the potential for so much more. My wife likes to tell me that I like to talk just to hear myself. She is not wrong and that’s a very narcissistic trait of mine but to be honest, no one entertains me more than myself (my son is gaining ground though). I also blame my ADHD on this issue too – I can just ramble on and on about absolutely anything that comes to my head. Thus, the creation of this blog, a place to organize my scattered thoughts without making my wife wish her ears would fall off.
The seed of optimism was planted deep within my soul. I firmly believe that every challenge life presents is a test from God, an opportunity to overcome, learn, and grow. This positive perspective became the cornerstone of my journey toward inner peace.
My blog has become more than just a platform for sharing thoughts; it’s a tool for self-discovery. The act of writing helps me organize my thoughts, reflect on my experiences, and set a path toward personal growth. Each post is an opportunity to explore life’s complexities, learn from them, and find the peace and balance I’ve been seeking.
Writing has always been a silent companion in my life, a realm I delved into for personal enjoyment. Yet, I had never found a compelling reason to share my thoughts with a broader audience. The notion of the blog kindled the idea of embracing this passion and using it as a medium for self-expression. I hate public speaking and currently the thought of ‘vlogging’ or making a YouTube channel gives me anxiety – I did enjoy video editing in high school but lost that passion once I went to college, a story for another day. Blogging allows me to share my thoughts to the public without needing to reveal my video editing skills, showing my face, etc. I remember how I would feel after writing a short story or essay in school and the sense of accomplishment, despite the grade, of expressing my thoughts into an organized format so others could understand me. I think for the most part, when I speak casually, I don’t stop to think beforehand, so my rambling just makes me sound mad, but with blogging I am able to edit and revise my thoughts before publishing them out to the world – SHOCKING, I know. Utilizing the comments section to further clarify any thought to the audience too is helpful for my mental clarity.
Inviting You on the Journey: As we dive into this blog, I invite you to join me on a path to self-awareness and personal growth. Together, we’ll navigate the challenges of time management, stress, work-life balance, and relationships. We’ll foster authenticity, balance, and a sense of community while pursuing a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Conclusion: “The Personal Elevator” started as a quest for added revenue but has transformed into a journey toward self-awareness and inner peace through the art of writing and community. My goal is not only to share my experiences but also to learn from you, my readers, and together, inspire personal growth, authenticity, and balance.
